About Me

My name is Elizabeth McIntyre and this is my blog on my path to my first marathon race. I will be turning 30 on February 12, 2012 and it is my goal to run a marathon before that date. Since I recently moved to the East coast, what better marathon to run than the ING New York City Marathon?

As I was contemplating all of this running, I was also thinking of my family friend Kate van Buitenen. She was diagnosed with Burkitt's Leukemia a year ago and has been bravely fighting ever since. Burkitt's is a rare, fast-growing type of leukemia in which too many white blood cells called B lymphocytes form in the blood and bone marrow.

It seemed a natural fit that I would sign up with Team in Training to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My fundraising goal for the marathon is $3,450.

Please help me raise $3,450 to donate to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It would mean so much to me to make a generous donation to an organization which is tirelessly trying to eradicate leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma.

THANK YOU!
